This client is Susan Clark, who lives in a beautiful Victorian-style home in Santa Monica, Ca. I could not call myself Victoriann Designs without mentioning that this lady's total environment suits my taste perfectly, even to the extent that she does not like any modern appliances to be visible, and this includes light switches, today's telephones, and heaven forbid computers or fax machines to show anywhere in the main house. |

This dining room ceiling border, 18 inches wide, she asked me to design very closely to a sample of 19th-Century wallpaper which she found on e-Bay, and also a medallion painted around chandelier base to match. . Below is a similar style to match tapestries in a high-ceilinged bedroom for another client. |

This was quite a precarious position for painting. I didn't rent a bonafide scaffold this time, and had to make the three duct-taped 2x4's (used for a plank) just a little higher. So I found some even blocks of wood to tape to each end and use a pillow, for more height and to save my back & neck. |

WISTERIA TREES BORDER:This wisteria tree originating from two vases decorates an octagonal sunroom/breakfast room. The client provided a magazine photo (at right) to show exactly what they wanted. |

These presentation sketches for this client (right) were done in Macromedia Freehand about a year before I did the job which got got postponed. Then we changed from this format altogether (see above). Variations are always to be expected, of course. This design can be used anywhere, and the 19th Century scrollwork can be made as "trompe l'oeil" (to look like moldings within the wall itself). |

More Floral Accents & Borders

Both of these floral and ivy accents were done in the same home, which had a theme of Calla Lilies throughout. This group of Callas shown is one of two on each side of the hallway wall at the entry foyer. The fall-colored ivy leaves were in the family room where the client had already painted her own faux on the walls. |
