My mother is Russian, born aboard ship in the Black Sea. As kids we grew up with "Babushka" (her mother), and were filled with many Russian customs and traditions. She was brought up learning Ballet of course, and before coming to New York she remembers as an infant the music of Turkey, where they stopped briefly when she was born. So she invented a Turkish Ballet. She also belongs to the Garden Club in Cambria, and grows many Amaryllis, as shown in this card. |
